These fishing safety alerts are emailed to a database of thousands of NSW anglers whenever conditions forecast by Roads and Maritime Services NSW and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology indicate dangerous fishing conditions on the NSW coast. These are usually warnings to rockfishers and coastal boat anglers but also occasionally apply to conditions on alpine lakes. The warnings are automatically linked to social media channels.
I am responsible for forecast monitoring, writing, editing, broadcast, system maintenance and database management.
Production, broadcast, database management, reporting and response management is handled using the MailChimp application.

Five Way Cellars, a well known wine merchant in Paddington in Sydney, had built up a large and loyal customer base over nearly 25 years. I worked with the FWC team to move their email marketing efforts from Outlook to Mailchimp. This involved rationalising and cleaning the existing Outlook-based database, transferring it to a mailing database in Mailchimp that preserved not just customer contact details but also their wine buying preferences, and setting up new email template designs and procedures so that the client could be self-sufficient and have better control over contact management, targeted marketing and email performance reporting.
